We have partnered on an exclusive basis with a leading solicitor’s firm based in Blackburn, who are seeking a proactive and experienced IT Manager to oversee and enhance their IT infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless technology operations that support legal professionals in delivering high-quality services nationwide.

Role Overview:

The In-House IT Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s IT systems, ensuring security, efficiency, and reliability. This position requires providing technical support, managing IT vendors, implementing IT strategies, and ensuring compliance with legal industry regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the firm’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, software, and hardware.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR.
  • Develop and implement IT security protocols to safeguard sensitive client and company data.
  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Lead IT projects, including software upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of new technologies.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of case management software and legal-specific IT systems.
  • Monitor and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide training and IT guidance to employees to enhance productivity and cybersecurity awareness.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies, making recommendations for improvements.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an IT management or senior IT support role, preferably within a legal or professional services environment (although not essential).
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, networks, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with legal case management software (such as Proclaim, Leap, or similar) is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and remote desktop environments.
  • Understanding of data protection regulations, particularly GDPR.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Relevant IT qualifications (such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco certifications) are desirable.
