New Claims Handler (Housing Disrepair)
Location: Blackburn (BB1) – Office Based
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 DOE

We're recruiting for a New Claims Handler to join a growing Housing Disrepair team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an expanding business that invests in its people and offers genuine opportunities for career progression.

Previous Housing Disrepair experience is highly desirable, although candidates with strong administration or legal support experience who are eager to develop within this specialist area are also encouraged to apply.

The Role As a New Claims Handler, you'll be the first point of contact for new Housing Disrepair enquiries, supporting clients through the initial stages of their claim while providing administrative support to the wider legal team.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting the initial vetting of new Housing Disrepair claims.
  • Explaining the claims process clearly and professionally to clients.
  • Supporting Fee Earners with case administration from instruction through to settlement or litigation.
  • Accurately updating client and case information within the case management system.
  • Preparing reports and providing administrative support to Team Leaders.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintaining excellent customer service standards throughout the claims process.
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and in line with company procedures.
About You To be successful in this role, you'll have:
  • Previous Housing Disrepair experience (preferred).
  • Excellent administration and organisational skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, positive and flexible approach.
  • Good problem-solving skills and sound judgement.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience using Proclaim would be advantageous but is not essential.
